An Introduction to 'BrushCraft by Artis' Brushes

Makeup brushes make an enormous difference with makeup application, and in a world where there are so so sooooo many brush choices, it can get pretty overwhelming trying to decide which ones are right for you. I'm hoping to do reviews on as many different brush brands as possible so that there is a brush review for every budget and taste. So to kick things off, I will be starting this series with the 'BrushCraft by Artis' brushes.

**Disclaimer: I was sent these brushes for free in exchange for my honest review and/or social coverage. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own and not influenced by the company and/or its affiliates in any way. I promise to only recommend products I have used and absolutely love.

I would like to say that by far these are some of the best makeup brushes I have ever used! As a makeup enthusiast, I have tried many different makeup brushes and there is just something about Artis' new BrushCraft line that has made me fall in love with them.

I'm sure all of you have seen the hundreds of photos of the Artis brushes circulating around Instagram and Twitter. They're shiny, sleek, and look so luxurious. Although the BrushCraft collection isn't as flashy, they do have some qualities that make them quite special. The methods which were used to create this collection resulted in huge cost savings which means customers can get these without breaking the bank. I mean, I don't know about you, but I can't afford to pay $57 for ONE brush!

Now, I'm not going to lie. When I first got my hands on these brushes, I judged the book by its cover and wasn't very impressed. I mean don't get me wrong, the packaging was absolutely beautiful! Each individual brush came in a heavy acrylic box. As for the actual brushes though, they're just a simple matte black and I guess I like my brushes to pop a little more when it comes to their color.

BUT my initial thoughts went completely down the drain when I ran my fingers against the brush fibers. OMG I can't even begin to tell you just how soft and smooth they are! I instantly thought to myself: "Even if these handles were made of paper or plastic, I wouldn't care as long as they felt like this!". I never cared what a makeup brush felt like on my skin, until I used these. There's no going back now!

One of the biggest questions I get asked about these is... Do you really like these better than traditional makeup brushes? Yes, yes, a million times YES! I already mentioned how amazing these feel, so I will try not to get into that again (Sorry, it's really something you can't get over. They are SOOOOO soft!). The bodies of these brushes make a huge difference as well. The handle and fiber orientation of the BrushCraft Brushes is more natural than a traditional makeup brush. Regular makeup brushes remind me of a paint brush. Great for painting flat surfaces, but not so great for smoothly moving around my giant chipmunk cheeks without leaving streaks.

So let's get a little more into detail about these four brushes...

Oval 6

It's the smaller, less expensive version of the $77 Artis brush Kylie Jenner uses to put on her moisturizer. It's perfect for applying foundation, bronzer, blush, and powders. It makes everything blend beautifully and once again, feels incredible! :)

Oval 3

I use this one for my under-eye concealer every day, but it's also great for applying your eyeshadows. It saves so much product, the teeniest bit really does go a long way with this brush.

Linear 1

This brush is PERFECT for doing your eyeliner. If you struggle as much as I do to create the perfect winged liner, this brush will help you out immensely. It's comes in handy for doing your brows as well.

Circle 1R

Last but not least, this domed top brush is great for blending your eyeshadow, spot concealing, and putting on lip products. Though it's not meant specifically for this, I actually use this to highlight. Especially when I want my highlight to really pop and don't feel like using a fan brush to put on a million layers.

If you're still curious about these brushes and what all the hype is about, I really think you should try them out for yourself. I promise that once you get your hands on these brushes, you won't regret it. I know that even though they aren't as expensive as the original Artis Brushes, they still are a little pricey. I truly believe that they are worth the splurge though.
