Proper skin care is very important for maintaining optimum skin health and hygiene. A major part of this care involves the daily day and night routines. Your morning routine prepares your skin for the battle of the day, while your bedtime routine heals your skin. With so many routines on the internet, it gets pretty hard to choose the one that will actually work for you. After a lot of trial and error these last few months, I have finally hit the jackpot! A night-time skincare routine that heals my skin perfectly. Here I will describe the steps of my routine so that you can hopefully benefit from my experience! After all, sharing is caring! ;)
L’Oréal Micellar Cleansing Water
I start off by applying this cleanser with a cotton pad to thoroughly remove all the dirt and makeup from my pores.
The Face Shop - Rice Water Cleansing Oil
On days when I'm wearing a lot of makeup or when my waterproof mascara is just being extra stubborn, I rub this in circles on my face after step 1 and rinse off with water.
Clinique Liquid Facial Soap
Clarisonic Mia 2
Next I use one pump of my Clinique liquid soap(I use the oily skin formula) and give my face that extra thorough cleaning with my Clarisonic brush so that I can wash off any excess oil from all the crevices of my face. This combination helps control any breakouts or clogging of pores.
**I use the Clarisonic Radiance Brush Head ($27.00)
**I know a Clarisonic is not in everyone's price range. this cleansing system by Essential Skin Solutions is a great, affordable option!
Quinn's Rose Petal Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel
After drying my face, I move on to this amazing toner which I apply with a cotton ball. It helps restore the natural balance of my skin, shrink my pores, and make my skin softer!
*I completely forgot to photograph this so I'm using a stock photo from Amazon.. Sorry!
L’Oréal Revitalift Bright Reveal Dual Overnight Moisturizer
This night cream has held me in awe! It's a moisturizer and night-time serum in one. Its nourishing ingredients brighten your skin throughout the night, while the anti-aging properties help smooth down any fine lines and dark spots. It basically works like a natural facelift so I can keep looking young. (I know, I'm young and shouldn't be worrying about this. But better to be safe than sorry!) I put a thin layer on in circular motions with my fingers.
**On the rare occasion when my skin is horribly dry, I switch this moisturizer out and use the Colonial Dames Vitamin E Cream instead. It's incredible at healing dry skin. Word of advice though, don't use this if you have oily skin. Sometimes it can be a little too moisturizing.
L’Oréal Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Eye Smoother Treatment
For the delicate skin under my eyes, I tap on this miracle formula with my ring finger. I may not have any wrinkles or fine lines yet, but it feels amazing and helps combat dark circles and puffiness (and I definitely have those!).
The 'Every 2-3 Days' Step
No skin care routine is complete without a nourishing mask. I use one every couple of days. I alternate between these two and both have worked miracles for my face!
Skin Food Black Sugar Mask
I found this when I was trying out Korean skincare and OMG! The results of this mask were amazing! My skin was left smoother, brighter, and EXTREMELY soft. It smells sweet and delicious too! I fell in love with in instantly!
L’Oréal Exfoliate & Refine Pure-Clay Mask
This is an amazingly nutritious mask that has had me enchanted! It helps deep clean my pores, exfoliate, and leaves my skin with a nice glow. You can read my full review on these clay masks here.
And that is really about it! Now that you know my secrets, you now know that I don’t do anything out of the ordinary. However, I do choose my products wisely and follow my routine persistently.
