Product Review | L'Oréal Micellar Cleansing Waters

As most of you can already tell by now, I am a huge fan of L'Oréal products. You've seen me rave on here about their clay masks, sulfate-free shampoos, and lotions. If you follow me on Snapchat and Instagram, you constantly see me talk about their makeup. It's my all time favorite drugstore brand, and they are constantly releasing phenomenal skincare, makeup, and hair products. So let's get into my newest skincare obsession: micellar water. More specifically: L'Oréal Micellar Cleansing Waters.

*Disclosure: I received the 'All Skin Types' formula for free in exchange for my honest opinion. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own and not influenced by the company and/or its affiliates in any way. I actually loved it so much that I bought the other two myself.

So what exactly is micellar water? Micellar water is made up of microscopic oil molecules(called micelles) in soft water. So what's the big deal you ask? Those little molecules attach themselves to all of the dirt, oil, makeup, and other nasty things on your skin. BUT instead of stripping your skin of everything like most cleansers do, the micelles dissolve the impurities and make sure you still keep the good stuff on your skin. Yes, believe it or not, underneath all of that waterproof makeup and gunk, you still have oils that are vital for your skin!

Let me tell you a little secret about my skin, it's bipolar. Sometimes it's dry. Sometimes it's oily. Sometimes it's normal. 🙄 So it's hard finding cleansers that don't dry out my oily skin, don't make my dry skin oily, and don't make my normal skin oily or dry. Does that make sense? 🤔 So because of my skin's personality disorder, I really wasn't expecting to love these. But after using it for the first time, my very first initial thought was, "Holy shit, I really wear THAT much makeup?!". And then, "Oooo, my skin feels so soft!!". And lastly, "Look at that glow.". 😂

Let's stop talking about all of the embarrassing things I tell myself when I'm cleaning my face... So L'Oréal created 3 different formulas for their micellar waters.

All Skin Types

This one is best for when you're wearing more makeup since t's the only one out of the 3 that removes waterproof makeup. I use this one the most. It's amazing at removing the 3 pounds of waterproof mascara I wear everyday! If your skin is crazy like mine, I'd recommend starting with this one.

*Disclosure: I received this one for free in exchange for my honest opinion. I loved it so much that I bought the other two myself.

Normal/Oily Skin

This one gently removes makeup, dirt, and oils, without going overboard. Sometimes you try so hard to mattify your skin, that it starts producing even more oils to prevent itself from drying out! That's what's so great about this one, it helps reduce oil and leaves your skin looking matte all day, without making your skin produce more oil.

Normal/Dry Skin

This one hydrates and soothes dry skin, and is still a beast at removing makeup and dirt. It's meant to reduce dryness and give your skin a little boost of moisture. And do you know what comes naturally with well nourished skin? GLOW.

Here's a little drawing tutorial on how to use them. I got the image from Ulta (here). The great thing about these, is that no water is required. You don't have to rinse your face off afterwards so it's really convenient and quick! I usually still wash my face afterwards, not because I have to, but I'm just weird and don't want to give up my Clarisonic. It was too expensive for me to not use it!

If you want to see my night-time routine click here and to see my daytime routine click here!

I would definitely recommend these to anyone. They're $9.99 in most stores. If you want to save some money, I would recommend buying them here where they're usually a couple bucks cheaper. OR you could always wait for Ulta to have a sale on skincare products and stock up then. :) Have you tried micellar water in your skincare routine? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
