It's May 3rd! I cannot believe it's May already.. Graduations, warm weather, and summer vacations are coming for most of you! I make it a goal to try new things each month. Whether it be food, books, or beauty products.. This post is about the things I tried out in April and absolutely loved! Now let me go ahead and warn you ahead of time.. Some of these things are definitely NOT beauty-related but will give you a little more insight on the type of person you've been reading from on here.. 😂 Go ahead, grab a snack for yourself and let's get started. 😇
I bought this foundation at the beginning of April after months of using the L'Oréal Pro-Glow foundation. The Total Cover formula is full coverage and instantly covers dark spots, blemishes, uneven skin tones, and dark circles. It supposedly lasts up to 24 hours, I haven't left it on that long, but it definitely has stayed on for at least 12 hours. It's affordable and a little definitely goes a long ways with this. It doesn't get dry or cakey, it doesn't settle into my lines or disappear after a few hours, it's just absolutely perfect for me. 😊
L'Oréal recently came out with new eyeliner pens and I love them! I tried them out in 'Intrepid Teal' and 'Black Party'. The sharp, felt tip glides on smoothly and is perfect for easily creating winged liner. It lasts all day and doesn't smudge. The only thing I didn't like about these though? They're just not as vibrant in color as I thought they would be. See my photo above? I'm wearing the 'Intrepid Teal' liner and it's almost like a really dark green. Not bright teal like the packaging suggests.. I like my eyeliner to really pop! But these are mostly just matte, ashy tones. Still great, for less dramatic everyday use!
This concealer is amazing! It covers any flaws on your face and visibly reduces the appearance of dark circles, spots, and imperfections in just 3 weeks. It covers really well, stays on all day, looks very natural, and is very affordable. You guys, I am officially in love with this! Maybelline has always had the best drugstore concealers, and this one was no exception. My only wish is that they had a larger range of colors for their concealers. Their lightest color sometimes is still a little too dark for my albino-looking skin. 😩
Seriously, Conchita? ANOTHER L'Oréal product?! I'm obsessed with L'Oréal products, we all know this. Their products and my skin were seriously made for each other! So I am NOT sorry. 😂 Anyways, I tried their new Genius Hydration Lotion(extra dry skin formula) this month and I absolutely love it! I have combination skin with some dry patches. I was really impressed with how lightweight it is and how well it absorbed into my skin. It didn't make the oily spots on my face get even oilier, which was the best part! If you're in need of a new moisturizer, I definitely recommend this one!
This is a spray lotion/protectant. After I do my makeup I lightly spray my face with this and it gives me a nice, dewy look AND sets my makeup. On days when I'm not wearing makeup, I still spritz this on because it moisturizes my skin and gives it a beautiful glow. I'm not even done yet! I spray a bit on my hair to add moisture to my dead ends and tame my frizzy baby hairs. ANDDDD when I want to give my eyeshadows more of a foiled look, I spray my brush with this and then add eyeshadow. It works really well too if you add a spritz or two to dried up gel eyeliners!
I ordered myself some loose diamond highlighters from CheriGlow Cosmetics. I originally ordered 3 different shades but the third one ended up being out of stock, so they only sent me 2. 😢 I bought 'Purple Tiara' and 'Glow Digger'. These highlighters are soooooo gorgeous and SOOOOOOOOOOOO pigmented! The teeniest bit will give you a glow that can be seen from a mile away! If you scroll back up to my little rant about the L'Oréal Infallible Paints Liners, I'm wearing the 'Purple Tiara' highlighter in that photo. See what I mean? Pigmented AF! They can be used as eyeshadows dry or wet as well. I will definitely be purchasing more colors soon!
I received a few lashes from Bullseye Lashes and fell in love. Their lashes are so stunning, so comfortable, and so inexpensive. You can buy them with a compact case(middle one) that has a mirror underneath the lashes, or you can just buy refills. My favorite were the 'Amy' lashes, but they have a ginormous variety! Make sure to check them out, I promise you will not regret it!
I loveeee this perfume! It's so fresh and girly. It's not overpowering and it lasts alllll day. Fabian actually gave me this as one of my birthday gifts last year, but I ran out last month and just had to buy a second bottle. I use it every single day and can't get enough of it! Also, the bottle is so adorable! 😍
Almond M&M's Eggs
I know this isn't necessarily beauty-related.. But my monthly favorites should consist of ALL my favorites.. 😂 I actually found these at HyVee when all of the Easter candy was on sale. I've never been a big fan of chocolate(it makes me break out), but I love almonds and decided to try these. I could not stop eating them! I had two huge bags in a matter of days and was breaking out like crazy within a week.. I completely forgot to take a photo before I ate them, so I had to borrow this stock photo from Google. Anyways, if you have some self-control, get them. If you don't, get them anyways and thank me later. 😇
My little sister bought me this book for my birthday(might've been Christmas? 🤔) but I didn't get around to reading it until about two weeks ago. God, I just wish I would've read it sooner! It's such an inspiring book. To be honest, I assumed it would just be cheesy, "You got this! You go, girl!" type of stuff or maybe even a get rich step-by-step thing, but boy was I wrong! It's entertaining, it's funny, it's inspiring, and insightful. If you need a push, this book is for you.
Okay, please don't laugh at me. But I've been playing this game like crazy for about a week now.. I've been in this Facebook group chat with all of my cousins for about two months, and last week one of them challenged us to play against him in this game.. I had never heard of it, but I instantly became obsessed. It's basically like an adorable mixed version of Temple Run and Flappy Bird. Your goal is to hop over holes so you don't fall into the "endless" lake. It's so fun, addicting, and frustrating! I'm actually going to advise you to NOT download this game, I swear, you won't be able to stop playing!
Burger King Froot Loops Shake
Go ahead and smirk at me for this one. Whatever. 🙄 You know how that unicorn frappe looks beautiful but tastes like crap? This is the exact opposite.. It's kinda ugly but tastes like heaven. 😂 But seriously, it's delicious! Fabian came home with one a few weeks ago and I'm obsessed! They're so thick and take me back to my childhood days(and this morning) of eating Froot Loops for breakfast. 😋
I am done! 🙌🏻 Thank you so much for reading my April Favorites post! I hope you try out some of these things and enjoy them as much as I have. If you have some new 'favorites' of your own or have a post idea for me, go ahead and let me know in the comments below. Happy Monday! 💕
